How the Etsy Canada calculation works
The calculator starts with the item price plus shipping charged to the buyer. It subtracts Etsy's percentage and fixed fees, then your POD production, supplier shipping, packaging, and other per-order costs. Sales tax collected from the buyer is intentionally excluded because marketplace and seller tax handling depends on registration and order details.

Etsy Canada fee questions
What Etsy fees do Canadian sellers pay?
A typical Canadian Etsy sale can include a US$0.20 listing fee converted to CAD, a 6.5% transaction fee, Etsy Payments processing, and a 0.5% Canadian regulatory operating fee. Offsite Ads, currency conversion, and tax on seller fees may also apply.
Does Etsy charge its transaction fee on shipping?
Yes. Etsy calculates the 6.5% transaction fee on the order amount, including shipping and gift wrap charged to the buyer.
What is Etsy Payments processing in Canada?
For Canadian bank accounts, Etsy lists processing at 3% plus CA$0.25 for domestic or US orders and 4% plus CA$0.25 for other international orders.
Why can the listing fee change in Canadian dollars?
The listing fee is US$0.20. Etsy converts it to the payment account currency at the market rate, so its CAD value can move over time.
Does this calculator include print-on-demand costs?
Yes. It deducts production, supplier shipping, packaging, and other per-order costs so the result reflects estimated profit rather than only Etsy's payout.
